This document presents the text of Mississippi laws regarding privacy and security related to criminal history information and other types of records.
Abstract
Individual sections focus on the duties and functions of the Mississippi Justice Information Center, the nature of the information maintained by the Center, the submission of data to the center by criminal justice agencies, the inspection of criminal offender records by the person or the person's attorney, the correction of errors in the records, and penalties for unlawfully obtaining or communicating information in a criminal history record. Further sections focus on the qualification for the position of information confidentiality officer in the Central Data Processing Authority, the handling and processing of information and the investigation of and hearing on complaints of allegedly improper disclosure of confidential information.
