This annual report for 2007 presents statistics on Missouri’s holiday traffic crashes (Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s).
Abstract
Over the Memorial Day holiday, 64 persons were killed, and 2,802 were injured from 2003 through 2007; in 2007, there were 1,094 traffic crashes in which 15 persons were killed and 474 were injured; 1 person was killed or injured every 9.6 minutes. Over the July Fourth holiday, 56 persons were killed, and 2,769 were injured from 2003 through 2007; in 2007, there were 426 traffic crashes in which 2 persons were killed and 230 were injured; 1 person was killed or injured every 7.8 minutes. Over the Labor Day holiday, 77 persons were killed, and 2,769 were injured from 2003 through 2007; in 2007, there were 1,572 traffic crashes in which 10 persons were killed and 572 were injured; 1 person was killed or injured every 10.5 minutes. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, 78 persons were killed, and 2,957 were injured from 2003 through 2007; in 2007, there were 1,572 traffic crashes in which 10 persons were killed and 572 were injured; 1 person was killed or injured every 10.5 minutes. Over the Christmas holiday, 40 persons were killed and 2,278 were injured from 2003 through 2007; in 2007, there were 1,857 traffic crashes in which 8 persons were killed and 623 were inured; 1 person was killed or injured every 9.7 minutes.
