These two documents present narrative and statistical information on the activities of the courts in Missouri for fiscal year 1997.
Abstract
The report notes that significant progress occurred on the court automation project to implement an integrated statewide case management system. In addition, 36 of the 45 circuits were able to achieve one or more of the court time standards. The legislature also approved the creation of a separate division of juvenile and adult court programs within the Office of State Courts Administrator to improve juvenile justice. The Missouri Supreme Court also appointed a Centralized Fine Collection Bureau Committee, which began developing uniform fine schedules for less serious crimes. Other activities included alcohol and drug abuse programs, education and training, the addition of four certified public accounting positions, court consolidation, and the criminal history improvement project.
