Abstract
Chapter 210 pertains to general provisions for child protection, child abuse and neglect law, the licensing of certain child care homes, homes for children, foster homes, child placing agencies, licensing, interstate compact on juveniles and on child placement, and court review of child placement. The Uniform Parentage Act, which specifies procedures for establishing a parent-child relationship, is also included in Chapter 210. Chapter 211 pertains to juvenile court procedures. The purpose of this chapter is to facilitate the care, protection, and discipline of children under the juvenile court's jurisdiction. In addition to specifying general court procedures, this chapter covers such matters as the certification of a juvenile for trial as an adult, taking a child into custody, the care and detention of children, procedures for various commitments, and the termination of parental rights. Chapter 219 addresses the responsibilities and procedures of the Division of Youth Services.
