DESCRIPTION OF A BANDSPREADING MODULATION TECHNIQUE CALLED MIXED BASE MODULATION (MBM) WHICH IS UNIQUE IN THAT THRESHOLD LEVEL AND HIGH SIGNAL-TO-NOISE GAIN CAN BE TRADED AT A FIXED BANDSPREADING RATIO.
Abstract
MBM IS DISCUSSED AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF SPECTRUM UTILIZATION IN LIGHT OF FUTURE REQUIREMENTS FOR SECURE VOICE AND DATA TRANSMISSION. THE LIMITATIONS ON MBM CAUSED BY A LEVEL OF HARDWARE COMPLEXITY WHICH IS MUCH HIGHER THAN FM (FREQUENCY MODULATION) ARE ALSO REVIEWED.
