The 11 chapters of this model contract, derived from over 1,000 law enforcement collective bargaining agreements, present a "model" contract from the perspective of a law enforcement labor organization and provide a guide to crafting contract language that can be applied in a variety of circumstances.
Abstract
This much expanded model contract covers a variety of topics for negotiations and contains many more examples of different ways to approach the same underlying contract issue. Topics for negotiations include general provisions, including association and employer security, management rights, productivity, and work rules; association rights; disciplinary procedures and standards; seniority; hours of work; uniforms and equipment; paid leave; insurance and retirement; grievance procedure and personnel matters; incentive plans and premium pay; and miscellaneous concerns such as pay practices, transfers, and wages.
