THE MODEL CURRICULUMS WERE DESIGNED IN AN EFFORT TO SATISFY THE CONTRACTUAL AND PROPRIETARY NEEDS OF SECURITY MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS, TRAINERS, CONSUMERS OF SECURITY SERVICES, REGULATORY BOARDS, AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES. THE OBJECTIVES, RATIONALE, KEY POINTS, TEACHING TECHNIQUES, RESOURCES, AND SCHEDULING OF THE FOLLOWING TRAINING CURRICULUMS ARE DETAILED: AN 8-HOUR PREASSIGNMENT SECURITY GUARD TRAINING COURSE, A 32-HOUR BASIC SECURITY GUARD TRAINING COURSE, A 40-HOUR COMBINED PREASSIGNMENT AND BASIC TRAINING COURSE, AND A 6-HOUR FIREARMS TRAINING COURSE. TWENTY-EIGHT LESSON GUIDES AND TWO FIREARMS QUALIFICATION PROGRAMS DEVELOPED SPECIFICALLY FOR SECURITY PERSONNEL ARE ALSO INCLUDED. THE CURRICULUMS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE TRAINING RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BY THE PRIVATE SECURITY TASK FORCE OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS. A CODE OF ETHICS FOR PRIVATE SECURITY PERSONNEL IS APPENDED, ALONG WITH SELECTED REFERENCES AND TRAINING RESOURCES. (KBL)
