Abstract
IN THE OPENING CHAPTERS THE AUTHORS EXPLAIN THE CONSTITUTION AND JURISDICTION OF THE MODERN ENGLISH JUVENILE COURT. THE REMAINING CHAPTERS COVER SUCH AREAS AS THE ROLE OF THE JUVENILE COURT MAGISTRATE, THE ROLE OF THE POLICE, THE SOCIAL WORKER IN THE JUVENILE COURT, INTERIM DETENTION AND REMANDS, AND THE VARIOUS FORMS OF JUDICIAL TREATMENT AVAILABLE TO THE COURT. THE FINAL CHAPTER CONTAINS SUGGESTIONS FOR AMENDMENT OF THE 1969 YOUNG PERSONS ACT.
