This correspondence course was devised by the American Correctional Association to help correctional managers and supervisors motivate staff to be productive. The second book of the course examines recordkeeping, the analysis of poor performance, and the conduct of coaching interviews.
Abstract
The specific focus is on the importance of staff feedback, staff performance recordkeeping, the use of charts and graphs to display performance data, and guidelines for successful recordkeeping. Attention is also paid to common causes of poor performance and possible solutions, criteria to be met before a supervisor conducts a coaching interview, steps of the coaching interview process, and questions to prepare for a coaching interview. The self-instructional format of the course enables correctional managers to study during their free time and work at their own pace.
