Abstract
FUNCTIONING OF THE POLICE FLEET WAS COMPARED TO VEHICLE MANAGEMENT IN OTHER CITIES AND STATES. RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDE THE ADOPTION AND ADHERENCE TO A PERIODIC MOTOR VEHICLE REPLACEMENT SCHEDULE ACCORDING TO SPECIFIED CRITERIA ADHERENCE TO A PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE, THE CREATION OF A POLICE FLEET SUPERVISOR, AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A SYSTEM OF COST ACCOUNTING RECORDS.
