DESCRIPTION OF A SECURITY SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM EMPLOYING LOW LIGHT LEVEL TV (LLLTV), TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN MT. VERNON, NEW YORK AS A CRIME DETERRENT MEASURE.
Abstract
THE PROPOSED SYSTEM UTILIZES SPECIALIZED TV CAMERAS MOUNTED HIGH UP ON STREET LIGHT POLES IN ORDER TO AFFORD A VIEW UP AND DOWN A BUSY CITY STREET. THE CAMERAS ARE DESIGNED SO AS TO BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A CLEAR PICTURE USING ONLY LIMITED AVAILABLE LIGHT, THUS PERMITTING NIGHT OPERATION AS WELL AS DAY TIME VIEWING. SYSTEM EQUIPMENT AND RELATED FUNCTIONS ARE DESCRIBED AND EXPLAINED.
