THE PROPOSED TREATMENT PLAN FOR ADOLESCENT GLUE AND SOLVENT SNIFFERS CALLS FOR THE ADOLESCENT TO BECOME A RESIDENT OF A RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY FOR BOTH SEXES.
Abstract
THE DAILY STRUCTURE OF THIS FACILITY WOULD CONTAIN SEVERAL BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS OUTLINED IN THIS ARTICLE. INDIVIDUAL TREATMENT INTERVENTIONS WOULD INCLUDE BEHAVIORAL CONTRACTS, INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, AVERSIVE COUNTERCONDITIONING, SYSTEMATIC DESENSITIZATION, AND ASSERTIVE TRAINING. GROUP TREATMENT INTERVENTIONS SUGGESTED ARE MORNING MEETINGS, SEMINARS, PEER GROUP THERAPY, AND PARENTAL GUIDANCE, AND INFORMATION GROUPS. IN ADDITION TO THE PROGRAM'S TREATMENT FOCUS, THE ROLE OF STAFF MEMBERS, CLIENT ASSESSMENT AND INTAKE, AND PROGRAM OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENTAL FOCUS ARE ALSO OUTLINED.
