THE MAJOR CATEGORIES COVERED ARE CRIMES KNOWN TO THE POLICE AND PROCEEDINGS TAKEN, MURDER COMMITTED BY INDIVIDUALS NOT FOUND TO BE INSANE OR SUFFERING FROM DIMINISHED RESPONSIBILITY AT THE TIME OF THE OFFENSE, AND MURDER RESULTING FROM A MENTALLY ABNORMAL STATE. THE TABLES INCLUDE INFORMATION ON MOTIVES, METHODS USED, OFFENDER CHARACTERISTICS, AND CASE DISPOSITIONS.
