Abstract
The first section of the report overviews projects that focus on drug abuse and peripheral criminal activity. The State strategy is outlined as it pertains to drug control, violence prevention, and criminal justice system improvements. The second section of the report contains information on program goals and accomplishments and on subgrants and funding, while the third section of the report presents major project evaluation findings. Drug education, prevention, and treatment are examined in terms of their interface with the criminal justice system. Innovative projects are described which concern multijurisdictional task forces, drug testing, drug-free workplace initiatives, community policing, asset forfeiture, criminal history record upgrades, marijuana eradication, assessment and referral of high-risk youth, and drug courts. 3 tables and 1 figure
