Abstract

Instruction on informants encompasses definitions, informant policy, informant development, types of informants, legal and ethical considerations in the use of informants, management of the informant, special considerations, and informant case studies. A chapter on search warrants considers its legal aspects, its preparation, special problems and considerations, a sample search warrant affidavit, and logistical considerations. Instruction in raid planning and execution addresses initial planning, pre-raid intelligence gathering, documentary elements of planning, the formulation of operational plans, a briefing package, plan implementation, and special considerations for drug lab raids.
