Abstract
THE ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNIQUES OF EXPEDITING APPELLATE REVIEW INCLUDE USE OF ELECTRONIC REPORTING EQUIPMENT, CRITERIA IN SELECTING CASES FOR REVIEW, METHODS USED IN DISPOSING OF MINOR CASES, HEARING CASES IN DIVISIONS, AND USE OF COURT COMMISSIONERS. THE SUBJECT OF THE PUBLIC IMAGE OF THE JUDICIARY IS DISCUSSED IN LIGHT OF PRESENTING A REALISTIC PICTURE OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE WORK OF THE COURT. THE SECTION ON LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO THE INDIGENT DEALS WITH THE STRUCTURE, PHILOSOPHY, AND WORKLOAD OF SUCH AID AND ITS IMPACT ON THE COURTS.
