Allocations for and descriptions of specific prevention programs are presented. The budget dedicates nearly $3.9 billion in Federal funds for early intervention and treatment services for individuals with drug problems, a 3.7- percent increase over the previous year. Allocations for and descriptions of specific treatment programs are provided. Just over $3.9 billion in Federal funds are allocated for domestic drug law enforcement efforts, a 1.9-percent increase from the previous year. The allocations for and descriptions of specific law enforcement programs are provided. A total of $3.7 billion is provided for Federal interdiction efforts, a 2.4-percent increase from FY 2010. This funding supports the activities of the Departments of Homeland Security, Defense, and State in interdicting the trafficking of illicit drugs into the United States. Allocations for and descriptions of major changes in this area are reported. For the support of international drug control activities, $2.3 billion is allocated, a 0.9-percent increase over the previous year. Amounts designated for specific described international drug control efforts are reported. In assessing the annual performance of Federal Drug Control Program agencies, the current performance system uses existing agency data systems required by the Government Performance and Results Act, along with national studies and surveys such as Monitoring the Future and the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Improvements are currently underway to establish a Performance Reporting System that will provide timely and accurate feedback. 2 tables and 1 figure
