The 1992 annual report of the National Judicial College (NJC) provides information on educational programs for judges, hearing officers, and court personnel.
Abstract
Part of the University of Nevada at Reno, the NJC presented a total of 95 programs in 20 States in 1992 and awarded 3,693 certificates of completion to judges and other court personnel. The NJC received a special $1 million appropriation through the Bureau of Justice Assistance, along with scholarship funding from foundations, associations, and individuals, that made it possible for the NJC to provide training. In 1992, the NJC also premiered a successful 2.5-day format for classes, designed to train judges who are not able to be away from their courts for a week or more. The NJC awarded 11 master's degrees in judicial studies in 1992 and continued its international outreach program by hosting a delegation of judges from the People's Republic of China and visitors from other countries. Data on NJC revenues and expenditures are provided, as well as a list of course offerings and educational programs, a list of instructors, and data on course attendance in 1992.
