Abstract
The first sections of the manual list project personnel, the faculty for the San Antonio seminar, the training participants for this seminar, groups for the master exercise, curriculum authors, and modules and trainers. The seminar schedule is also provided. Each of the training modules outlines module goals, objectives, background reading, and handouts. Instruction material pertinent to the module is provided as well. The modules address the future impact of drug use on probation and parole agencies, the relationship between drug use and crime, the creation and implementation of a drug program, identification and assessment, drug screening, the pharmacology of street drugs, intervention and treatment, AIDS prevention for drug abuse programs, supervision and surveillance, the evaluation of drug abuse programs, legal issues, and resource development. The manual concludes with descriptions of 19 drug intervention programs sponsored by probation and parole offices throughout the Nation.
