This publication by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Stakeholder Partnership (NSP) provides grantees with information about requirements and resources for data collection.
The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Stakeholder Partnership (NSP) provides this publication to alert grantees about requirements and resources for data collection. OVC grantees are required to collect performance measures data to submit as part of quarterly reports using the OVC Performance Measurement Tool (PMT). However, in addition to the OVC performance measures data, grantees may want to gather additional information regarding their work, or about the unmet needs in their community. Resources provided by the OVC-funded Center for Victim Research include tools and trainings on working together, with information about finding a research partner, tips for successful collaboration, and what to include in a Memorandum of Understanding; collecting data, with links to resources and guides and a collection of survey instruments, interview guides, and focus group protocols; evaluation, including an explanation of the types of evaluation and links to evaluation guides; and needs assessments, including guides and overviews. Other resources include a directory of victim researchers, searchable by state and expertise, to assist in the search for a local research partner.
