THIS REPORT PRESENTS RECIDIVISM RATES AND OTHER DATA FROM A SAMPLE OF TEN PERCENT OF THE YOUTHFUL PARTICIPANTS IN NYPUM, WHICH CONSISTS OF CLUBS THAT TEACH COURT REFERRALS AND DELINQUENCY PRONE YOUTH ABOUT MINIBIKES.
Abstract
DATA SHOW THAT, WHEN COMPARED TO THE HENNEPIN COUNTY (MN) JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM, NYPUM APPEARS TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL AND LESS EXPENSIVE DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE PRE-PROGRAM ARREST RATES OF NYPUM YOUTHS WERE MUCH HIGHER THAN THOSE OF THE NON-NYPUM MATCHED SAMPLE. PRE- AND POST-PROGRAM ARRESTS ARE COMPARED.
