EVALUATION OF A FILM LIBRARY PROJECT ESTABLISHED TO AID IN TRAINING POLICE OFFICERS AND TO PROVIDE FILMS FOR OFFICERS TO USE WITH THE PUBLIC WHEN THEY ARE ASKED TO ACT AS CRIMINAL JUSTICE RESOURCE PERSONS.
Abstract
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT FILM LIBRARY HAS BEEN OPERATING ON A GRANT SINCE JUNE 1971. THE PURPOSE OF THIS EVALUATION WAS NOT TO DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF CONTENT OF THE FILMS, BUT TO DETERMINE IF THE FILMS HAVE BEEN USEFUL TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, IF THEY HAVE BEEN USED BY COUNTY ATTORNEYS, AND IF THE DELIVERY SYSTEM IS ADEQUATE. THE REPORT IS DIVIDED INTO THE FOLLOWING THREE PARTS: ACQUISITION AND USE OF THE FILMS, THE DELIVERY SYSTEM, AND CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS. THE APPENDICES CONTAIN INFORMATION ON FUNDING AND A LIST OF FILMS PURCHASED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...KAP
