This report presents statistics on inmate populations, inmate characteristics, admissions, releases, parole, community corrections, and recidivism in Nebraska during fiscal year 1995-96 as well as trends in recent years.
Abstract
The data revealed that the State correctional institutions had an average monthly adult population of 3,016 in 1996, compared to 1,811 in 1986. A total of 1,664 adults were admitted to Nebraska correctional facilities, and 1,550 adults were released from correctional facilities during the year. Data are also provided regarding admission type, race, age, commitment area, most serious offense category, first count offense category, minimum and maximum sentences, length of stay, and other factors.
