RESULTS OF A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF NEBRASKA JUVENILE COURT CASES FOR SUCH VARIABLES AS REASON FOR REFERRAL, DISPOSITION, PRIOR REFERRALS, SEX, FAMILY INCOME, ETHNIC GROUP, AREA, AND LIVING ARRANGEMENT.
Abstract
THE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS PERFORMED ON THE 1974 JUVENILE COURT REPORTING DATA WAS THE CHI SQUARE TEST OF ASSOCIATION. SIXTEEN ASSOCIATIONS WERE ANALYZED; OF THESE, ELEVEN WERE SIGNIFICANT. SIGNIFICANT RELATIONS WERE FOUND BETWEEN REASON FOR REFERRAL AND SEX, AREA, FAMILY INCOME, ETHNIC GROUP, AND LIVING ARRANGEMENT; BETWEEN DISPOSITION AND SEX, AREA, FAMILY INCOME, AND ETHIC GROUP; AND BETWEEN PRIOR REFERRALS AND AREA. RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN TABULAR FORM.
