PROCESSED JUVENILE COURT DATA AND THE ANALYSES PERFORMED UPON THIS DATA ARE PRESENTED.
Abstract
IMPORTANT FACTORS FOR DESCRIBING JUVENILES WHO HAVE COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE JUVENILE COURT ARE SUMMARIZED. THESE FACTORS FALL INTO TWO GROUPS: (1) CHARACTERISTICS OF THE OFFENDER'S ENVIRONMENT; AND (2) PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE OFFENDER. THE SECTIONS DEAL WITH SEX, ETHNIC GROUP, AGE, EMPLOYMENT, SCHOOL STATUS, AND FAMILY CHARACTERISTICS. TABLES AND FIGURES RELEVANT TO THE TEXT OF EACH SECTION ARE PRESENTED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT SECTION; SEVERAL TABLES REFERRED TO IN THE TEXT HAVE BEEN APPENDED.
