Abstract
A brief history of crime study is followed by a discussion of the social, biological, and psychological etiology of crime. Several chapters describe normal human psychological development, inner sources of control and conditions for normal development, and factors which may interfere with normal development. Specific criminal manifestations of psychological disorders including sexual offenses, stealing, and arson are discussed. The aims and application of individual psychotherapy are outlined, followed by an examination of the principles in the application of treatment, the archetypal basis of treatment, and the factors that may determine the outcome of treatment.
