FORENSIC PSYCHIATRY OR SOCIAL-LEGAL PSYCHIATRY HAS FOUND ITSELF A BROADENED SUBJECT MATTER.
Abstract
IT HAS EXTENDED OUT TO COOPERATE WITH OTHER DISCIPLINES, IT HAS ESTABLISHED IN THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PSYCHIATRY AND THE LAW ITS OWN TRADE ASSOCIATION, AND IT HAS DEVELOPED ITS OWN LITERATURE AND TEACHING MATERIALS. IT HAS BECOME THE CONNECTION BETWEEN PSYCHIATRY AND THE COURTS, THE PRISONS, ADMINISTRATIVE BODIES, SOCIAL AGENCIES, AND LEGISLATURES. IT IS NOW A FOCUS FOR STUDENTS WHO WANT TO FIND WAYS TO USE PSYCHIATRIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE LARGER CONTEXT OF SOCIETY. BIBLIOGRAPHY AND COURT DECISIONS. AUTHOR MODIFIED
