THE ORGANIZATION, RESOURCES, AND WORKLOADS OF CORRECTIONAL AGENCIES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE ARE ANALYZED IN A REPORT INTENDED AS A TOOL FOR THE STATE'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNERS.
Abstract
LIKE SIMILAR ANALYSES OF NEW HAMPSHIRE'S COURTS AND POLICE, THE REPORT SUPPORTS PREPARATION OF THE STATE'S COMPREHENSIVE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLAN. THE REPORT IS IN FOUR SECTIONS: THE STATE PRISON; THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTER; THE PROBATION DEPARTMENT; AND THE BOARD OF PAROLE AND PAROLE DEPARTMENT. (A SECTION ON COUNTY CORRECTIONS IS TO BE PUBLISHED.) EACH SECTION PRESENTS DESCRIPTIONS AND ANALYSES OF THE AGENCY'S FUNCTIONS AND ORGANIZATION, PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT, FACILITIES, AND WORKLOAD. THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTER SECTION ALSO INCLUDES A CLIENT PROFILE. ANALYSES OF WORKLOADS (INMATE POPULATIONS, CASELOADS, ETC.), FUNDING, AND OTHER ASPECTS OF AGENCY OPERATIONS ARE USED IN SOME SECTIONS TO DEVELOP PROJECTIONS. TABLES AND GRAPHS ARE INCLUDED. (LKM)
