A HANDBOOK OF A COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS CENTER IN NEW HAMPSHIRE PRESENTS GUIDELINES FOR CENTER RESIDENTS ON RULES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIVILEGES.
Abstract
THE HANDBOOK DISCUSSES FIRST RESPONSIBILITIES COMMENTING THAT A RESIDENT IS EXPECTED TO CONSTRUCTIVELY DEAL WITH COMMUNITY REINTEGRATION ISSUES NECESSARY TO DEVELOP A SUCCESSFUL AND REWARDING LIFESTYLE. THE PROGRESS RESIDENTS MAKE WILL DEPEND TO A LARGE EXTENT ON THEIR SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY, MATURITY, ATTITUDE, AND BEHAVIOR. VIOLATIONS OF RULES CAN RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EXPULSION FROM THE CENTER AND A RETURN TO CUSTODY. RULES ARE LISTED INCLUDING THOSE ON DRUG AND ALCOHOL USE, EXPENSES (RESIDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO PAY THEIR OWN WAY), CHORES, AND MEAL HOURS. A SECTION ON PRIVILEGES COMMENTS ON VISITING HOURS, USE OF BIKES, AND JOGGING AND WALK PRIVILEGES. PROGRAM PHASES ARE LISTED ALONG WITH THEIR ATTENDANT PRIVILEGES. AS RESIDENTS ARE PROMOTED TO A NEW PHASE, MORE PRIVILEGES ARE GRANTED THEM. ALL PHASES ARE CONSIDERED PRIVILEGES AND RESIDENTS MAY LOSE A PART OF OR ALL PRIVILEGES FOR RULE VIOLATIONS AND MUST UPHOLD THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES BEFORE THEY CAN EARN PRIVILEGES.
