Abstract
THE NUMBER OF VACANCIES AND JUDGES IN OFFICE, AND COMPARATIVE STATISTICS ON MANNER OF DISPOSITION AND SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES ARE PROVIDED. STATISTICAL DATA ON THE WORK OF THE COURTS FOR 1972-1973, INCLUDING THE SUPREME COURT, APPELLATE COURTS, CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LAW DIVISIONS, GENERAL EQUITY AND MATRIMONIAL CHANCERY DIVISION, COUNTY COURTS, JUVENILE COMPLAINTS, AND THE COUNTY DISTRICT COURT ARE GIVEN. INCREASES IN THE NUMBER OF JUDGESHIPS, REDUCED CASE BACKLOGS, TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENTS DURING ABSENCES DUE TO ILLNESS IN THE APPELLATE COURTS, BROADENED USE OF SIX-MAN JURIES, AND RESULTS OF THE 'NO FAULT' DIVORCE STATUTE OF SEPTEMBER, 1971 ARE ALSO DISCUSSED.
