THIS REPORT COVERS FISCAL 1974 AND 1975 FUNDS AWARDED TO MUNICIPALITIES, COUNTIES AND STATE AGENCIES FOR PROJECTS AIMED AT IMPROVING THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND REDUCING CRIME.
Abstract
THE REPORT DESCRIBES WHO RECEIVED THE FUNDS, HOW THEY WERE SPENT, AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE OMNIBUS CRIME CONTROL AND SAFE STREETS ACT OF 1968 AS AMENDED BY THE CRIME CONTROL ACT OF 1973. THE REPORT ATTEMPTS TO CHART THE GROWTH OF NEW JERSEY STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT PLANNING AGENCY PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO INCLUDE ALL AREAS OF THE NEW JERSEY CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. CHANGES IN STRATEGIES AND PROGRAMS TO MEET CONCURRENT CHANGES AND DEVELOPMENTS IN STANDARDS, GOALS, AND PRIORITIES ARE REFLECTED. INFORMATION ON ALL FISCAL 1974 PROJECTS AND SPECIFIC DETAILS REGARDING SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT 1974 PROJECTS ARE OFFERED. AN INTERIM REPORT OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND GRANTS AWARDED UNDER FISCAL 1975 PROGRAM AREAS AS OF JUNE 30, 1976 IS PRESENTED. ALSO INCLUDED ARE LISTINGS OF DISCRETIONARY GRANTS AWARDED FROM 1974 AND PLANNING GRANTS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 1976.
