Abstract
SPONSORED BY THE OFFICE OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY BETWEEN 1967 AND 1972, THE EXPERIMENT CENTERED ON A GRADUATED WORK-INCENTIVE PROGRAM DEALING WITH A NEGATIVE INCOME TAX. THE MAJOR CONCERN OF THE PROJECT WAS TO DETERMINE TO WHAT EXTENT A NEGATIVE INCOME TAX TENDS TO DIMINISH THE WORK EFFORT OF PROGRAM BENEFICIARIES. THIS THIRD AND LAST VOLUME OF A SERIES CONTAINS A SELECTION OF ANALYTICAL PAPERS, BASED ON THE DATA COLLECTED IN THE COURSE OF THE EXPERIMENT, DEALING WITH THE FOLLOWING BEHAVIORAL CONCERNS: EXPENDITURE PATTERNS, HOUSING CONSUMPTION, THE DETERMINANTS OF HOME BUYING, PERSONAL CONSUMPTION BEHAVIOR, APPROACHES TO HEALTH CARE UTILIZATION, SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS, FERTILITY BEHAVIOR, HOUSEHOLD CONSUMPTION, SOCIAL INTEGRATION, LEISURE ACTIVITY, MEDIA EXPOSURE, AND LIFESTYLE ENHANCEMENT.
