Abstract
DISCUSSED ARE THE CHRONOLOGY AND PROVISIONS OF THE NEW JERSEY SEX STATUTE, WHICH COMMITS CONVICTED SEXUAL OFFENDERS TO A 60-DAY PERIOD OF DIAGNOSIS AND CLASSIFICATION, FOLLOWED BY THE INDICATED PSYCHIATRIC AND REHABILITATIVE TREATMENT EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AN INSTITUTIONAL SETTING. DESCRIBED IN DETAIL IS THE TREATMENT PROGRAM USED AT ONE OF THE STATE'S INSTITUTIONAL SETTINGS, THE SELF-CONTAINED SPECIAL TREATMENT UNIT FOR 100 SEX OFFENDERS AT MAXIMUM-SECURITY RAHWAY STATE PRISON.
