ASSESSMENT OF THE CONTEMPORARY STATUS OF ORGANIZED CRIME IN THE US AS BEING IN A STATE OF TRANSITION, INASMUCH AS ITALO-AMERICAN DOMINATION IS BEING ACCEDED TO OR SEIZED BY BLACKS AND HISPANO AMERICANS.
Abstract
COMPARISONS AND CONTRASTS ARE OUTLINED BETWEEN THE PATTERNS OF ORGANIZATION IN THE EMERGING DOMINANT ETHNIC GROUPS AND THOSE IN THE ITALO-AMERICAN GROUP. THE ANALYSIS IS DERIVED FROM FIELD WORK AND FOCUSES ON EACH GROUP'S NETWORK OF ASSOCIATION AND ORGANIZATION. THE MAJOR FINDING REPORTED IS THAT THE NEWLY EMERGING GROUPS LACK AN EFFECTIVE ORGANIZING PRINCIPLES AND OPERATE ON CAUSAL, CRIMINAL, ASSOCIATIONAL, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL RELATIONSHIPS AS WELL AS A CERTAIN NORMATIVE CODE OF RULES.
