This report from the New South Wales (NSW) Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research provides data on criminal cases finalized by the lcal, children's, district, supreme, and licensing courts of NSW during 2008.
Abstract
Data presented in this report are collected by the various courts in New South Wales (NSW) and maintained by the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research. General findings from the data indicate that in 2008 there was a 1.9 percent increase from 2007 in the number of persons/organizations with matters finalized in the local courts; between 2007 and 2008, the number of matters finalized in children's courts increased by 14.4 percent; and between 2007 and 2008, the number of persons finalized in trial and sentence matters in the higher courts remained stable. Data in the report are presented in three sections: Section 1: New South Wales Local Court Tables; Section 2: New South Wales Children's Courts Tables; and Section 3: New South Wales Higher Courts Tables. The report concludes with a section on New South Wales Criminal Courts Explanatory Notes and four appendixes. Tables
