Abstract
The first section summarizes major trends in recorded offenses in the 2-year period, 1989-1990; there are figures showing trends in selected offenses as well as an analysis indicating which trends are statistically significant. This is followed by a presentation of monthly trends in recorded offenses for the same 2 years in major selected offense categories. The next section provides the numbers of cleared offenses in each classification for 1989 and 1990; cleared offenses are divided into those that occurred in the same year and those that occurred earlier. Seventeen tables, one for each major offense category, supply statistics on recorded offenses, rates per 100,000 population for each region, and rates for the State as a whole. The last section consists of 26 tables, each representing a specific region of New South Wales; the tables provide numbers and rates of recorded offenses for 1989-1990 and for 1990, for all offense classifications. 45 tables, 17 figures, and 2 appendixes
