Abstract
The first section is an overview of major trends in recorded offenses over the 3-year period from January 1991 to December 1993. Figures that show trends in selected offenses are provided, as well as an analysis that shows which trends are statistically significant. The second section presents the monthly trends in recorded offenses for the same years for selected major offense categories. The next section provides the numbers of cleared offenses in each offense classification for 1991, 1992, and 1993 for the State as a whole. Cleared offenses are divided into two groups: those that occurred in the same year and those that occurred earlier. The tables also present a single-year clear-up percentage. This percentage is the number of offenses that both occurred and were cleared in the specified year, as a percentage of the total number of offenses that occurred in that year. In the fourth section there are 19 tables, one for each major offense category. The last section has 27 tables, each for a specific region of New South Wales. The tables provide numbers and rates of recorded offenses for 1991, 1992, and 1993 for all offense classifications.
