DISCUSSION OF THE REDESIGNING OF THE RECRUIT LEGAL TRAINING CURRICULUM AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE POLICE STUDENTS GUIDE IN LAW PUBLISHED BY THE POLICE ACADEMY TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TRAINING PROGRAM.
Abstract
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE LAW CURRICULUM IS TO ENABLE POLICE OFFICERS TO GAIN A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF CRIMINAL AND PROCEDURAL LAW ENABLING THEM TO MAKE BONA FIDE ARRESTS AND TO DEFEND THEIR CASES IN COURT AGAINST MOTIONS TO SUPPRESS EVIDENCE AND VARIOUS OTHER PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES. EMPHASIZED ARE THE BILL OF RIGHTS, PROBABLE CAUSE, AND STOP AND FRISK.
