Abstract
Additional sections review programs and accomplishments in the areas of qualify of life, personnel, operations, investigations, and administration. An introduction notes that the advent of community policing throughout the department will change the focus of its operations as well as reduce fear and improve the quality of life for people in New York City. Major events included coverage of the United Nations, a major labor union strike, presidential visits, a major parade, and community unrest in Crown Heights. Tables
