Abstract
THROUGH A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF INVESTIGATION TIMES AND CURRENT ALLOCATION POLICIES, THE DETECTIVE BUREAU WAS ABLE TO ELIMINATE THE FUGITIVE SQUAD, DEVISE A MORE EQUITABLE PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT SCALE GEARED NOT SOLELY TO THE NUMBER OF ARRESTS, BUT TO THE DIFFICULTY OF THE CASE, AND THE ELIMINATION OF CERTAIN TYPES OF INVESTIGATIONS FROM THE JURISDICTION OF THE DETECTIVE BUREAU. THE ELIMINATED INVESTIGATIONS INCLUDE NON-CRIMINAL MOTOR VEHICLE HOMICIDES, LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT, AND MISSING PERSONS INVESTIGATIONS.
