Abstract
THIS GUIDE ENCOMPASSES ALL THE SIGNIFICANT BAROMETERS OF PRECINCT PERFORMANCE OF THE NEW YORK POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: LEADERSHIP OF COMMANDING OFFICER; COMMUNITY AFFAIRS; PREVENTIVE PATROL, CRIME CONDITIONS; OTHER PRECINCT CONDITIONS; CORRUPTION; PERSONNEL; RECORDS; PHYSICAL PLANT; AND EQUIPMENT. THE BULK OF THE GUIDE CONSISTS OF SAMPLE INSPECTION WORKSHEETS GROUPED UNDER THE 10 PERFORMANCE INDICATORS. THESE WORK SHEETS ARE DESIGNED TO BE USED BY BOTH OPERATING (PRECINCT) AND OVERHEAD (ZONE, AREA, BUREAU, AND INSPECTIONS DIVISION) PERSONNEL.
