This report presents system indicator and performance measurement data for criminal justice activities within New York State.
Abstract
Historical criminal justice system indicator data, including reported crime and criminal justice populations, are presented in this report. For performance measures, 5 years of data are presented. The Sex Offender Management section also provides information required by Article 6-C of the Correction Law. The 23 criminal justice topics covered in this report include 5 strategy areas that cross agency lines: Operation IMPACT, DNA Databank and Collection, Offender Re-entry, Sex Offender Management, and Criminal Alien Improvements. Data were provided by Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and the following State and Federal agencies: Board of Examiners of Sex Offenders, State Commission of Correction, Department of Correctional Services, Crime Victims Board, Division of Parole, Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Division of Probation and Correctional Alternatives, a division of the State Police; the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the New York/New Jersey High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, and local police and law enforcement agencies throughout New York State.
