FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE AREAS OF JUROR EDUCATION AND ORIENTATION, VOIR DIRE PROCEDURES, JURY SIZE, JUROR SAFETY, AND JURY COMPOSITION.
Abstract
THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED FURTHER RESEARCH INTO THE USE OF TELEPHONE RESERVE PANELS WHICH WOULD ALLOW JURORS TO GO TO THEIR REGULAR EMPLOYMENT SUBJECT TO ONE-HOUR NOTICE BY TELEPHONE THAT THEY WERE NEEDED. MOST OF THE FINDINGS WERE BASED UPON A QUESTIONNAIRE SUBMITTED TO 5000 JURORS IN NEW YORK CITY. A COPY OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE IS INCLUDED.
