The Veritas 100 Analyzer provides the capability for screening an individual for alcohol and drugs through a simple, noninvasive test procedure requiring no special operator expertise or interpretation.
Abstract
The technology is an outgrowth of the electronystagmograph, an instrument used to measure the body's balancing mechanism. Specific drugs and alcohol have a measurable effect on the body's motor sensory system and produce measurable events in involuntary eye movements. The Veritas is an expert system that collects electrical potentials through electrodes and analyzes the resulting waveform information using algorithms that definitively identify the characteristics of individual drug patterns and simultaneously prints the results. With continuing progress in software development, the Veritas will expand in capability and accuracy and will be able to screen comprehensively for eight generic drug families with one 5-minute procedure.
