THIS ORGANIZATION STUDY, DATED MAY 16, 1977, WAS PREPARED FOR THE NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (TX) POLICE DEPARTMENT, WHOSE 34 PERSONNEL (25 SWORN) SERVE 24,000 PERSONS LIVING IN AN AREA OF 18.5 SQUARE MILES.
Abstract
THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED TO EVALUATE TWO PROBLEMS FACING THE FORCE: THE PRESENT AND FUTURE ORGANIZATION OF THE FORCE AND THE ADEQUACY OF THE PRESENT NUMBER OF PERSONNEL AND NEEDS IN THE FUTURE. THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS WERE MADE: INTERNAL REORGANIZATION, THE REVISION OF CLASS DESCRIPTIONS FOR SERGEANT AND LIEUTENANT, THE COLLAPSING OF CLASSES FOR CAPTAIN AND ASSISTANT CHIEF, AND THE UPGRADING OF THE TWO SERGEANT POSTS TO LIEUTENANT.
