THE FEASIBILITY OF TREATING JUVENILES IN COURT IN A MORE LEGAL AND HUMAN MANNER, BY INVOLVING THE OFFENDER IN THE DISPOSITIONAL DECISIONS.
Abstract
CONCLUSIONS INDICATE THAT BECAUSE OF ILLEGAL FEATURES OF THE INFORMAL PROCEDURES IN JUVENILE COURT, THE RIGHT OF DUE PROCESS IS DENIED TO JUVENILE OFFENDERS AND UNNECESSARILY STIGMATIZES THEM. A DEMONSTRATION PROJECT WAS CONCEIVED TO INVOLVE THE OFFENDER IN HIS OWN DISPOSITION. COPY FROM REVERSE DATA ARE TABULATED AND EXPLAINED. PROCEDURES FOR PARTICIPATION AND SIGNIFICANT FINDINGS ARE GIVEN. 10 REFERENCES.
