This text defines the coding categories in the Iowa model of offender risk assessment and discusses the two assessments of risk that the model provides: the measure of general risk to society and the measure of the specific risk of violence.
Abstract
An item-by-item description of the elements that must be considered to obtain an offender's risk classification covers the current offense score, the prior violence score, and the criminal history score. Finally, a form for recording the data relevant to each offender is provided.
