This document provides information regarding selected characteristics for offenders under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Department of Corrections who are on parole.
Abstract
Forty-one percent of the total parole population consisted of persons who had committed crimes of a violent nature. Of these violent offenders, 49 percent were on parole for robbery, 13 percent for homicide, 24 percent for assault, and 12 percent for sexual assault and other sex offenses.
