This fact sheet outlines the activities of the U.S. Justice Department's Office for Victims of Crime's (OVC's) Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC) in providing no-cost tools and resources as well as specialized and customized training for those who serve crime victims.
Abstract
The fact sheet provides brief descriptions for each category of OVC TTAC resources and assistance services. The resources include instructor materials, webinars, online training, toolkits, and special initiatives. OVC TTAC services include training designed for groups of victim service providers and allied professionals in a specific jurisdiction. Instructors, an onsite coordinator, instructor materials, and participant manuals are provided. In addition, customized technical assistance by experts in the field of victim services is available. OVC TTAC also sponsors a National Victim Assistance Academy, which helps develop and promote professional skills and knowledge for victim service providers. OVC TTAC's professional development scholarships provide financial assistance for multidisciplinary teams, victim service professionals, and others in the field to attend victim-focused training and conferences. Another service consists of speaker support. Experienced consultants are available for conferences, plenary sessions, and panels.
