This publication provides brief descriptions of all of the U.S. Justice Department's Office of Justice Program's (OJP's) funding opportunities for fiscal year 2002, listing the amount of funding available; who can apply; and the status of program regulation, guidelines, reports, and application kits.
Abstract
The specific problems and issues being targeted by OJP's funding opportunities are grouped under categories whose titles reflect the broad issues being addressed by the funding opportunities in each category. The categories of funding opportunities are titled Empowering Communities (4 programs), Breaking the Cycle of Drug Abuse and Crime (5 programs), Combating Family Violence (7 programs), Addressing Youth Crime (9 programs), Managing offenders (2 programs), Protecting and Supporting Victims of Crime (3 programs), Using Technology in Addressing Crime (8 programs), Enhancing Law Enforcement Initiatives (13 programs), Countering Terrorism and Ensuring Domestic Preparedness (3 programs), Addressing Crime and Justice for American Indians and Alaskan Natives (4 programs), and Enhancing Criminal Justice Administration Through Research and Evaluation (1 program). For each funding opportunity listed under each of these categories, this report shows the fiscal year 2001 and fiscal year 2002 appropriations; the Federal agency that will administer the funding; grant program information; and information on eligibility, applications, and awards. This report also provides an OJP organization chart and an OJP fiscal year 2001 formula-based programs chart.
